Rockhill House Estate  ·  Letterkenny, Co. Donegal

Meetings & Events

There are conference centres. And then there is Rockhill House — a 17th-century private estate, fully restored, set in over 100 acres of ancient woodland above Letterkenny, with a team whose instinct is hospitality rather than logistics. The setting changes what a meeting feels like. The service changes what it achieves.

From a senior leadership away day to a full conference and awards ceremony, Rockhill provides the space, the discretion, and the standard that serious business demands.

Spaces & Capacities

Event Rooms & Spaces

From an intimate boardroom to a full conference and gala dinner, Rockhill has a space suited to every format. Each room carries the character of the house — no two are the same, and none look like a conference suite.

Boardroom  ·  Meetings & Seminars

The Letterleigue Boardroom

An elegant and well-appointed boardroom suited to senior meetings, workshops, and seminars. Named after the historic townland in which the estate sits, the Letterleigue Boardroom provides a focused and prestigious environment for high-level business. Full AV facilities available on request.

The Library Bar

A distinctive and atmospheric space combining the original library of the house with a full bar. Ideal for product launches, drinks receptions, and informal networking events. The Library Bar gives any event an immediate sense of occasion and provides a natural gathering space before or after a formal programme.

Suited For

Receptions  ·  Launches  ·  Networking  ·  Private Dining

Principal Hall  ·  Conferences & Ceremonies

The Main Hall

The iconic centrepiece of Rockhill House — a grand period room with original features and the proportions to host conferences, awards ceremonies, and gala dinners with genuine atmosphere. Few rooms in the North West carry the same combination of scale and character. The Main Hall sets a tone that a purpose-built venue simply cannot replicate.

Configurations

Theatre  ·  Banquet  ·  Awards  ·  Conference

Largest Space  ·  Major Events

The Orangerie

The Orangerie is Rockhill’s largest event space — a stunning glass-and-stone structure adjoining the main house, flooded with natural light. Steps from the Orangerie lead down to the formal gardens and courtyard, making it a natural focal point for events that spill between the interior and the outside. The ideal setting for major conferences, gala dinners, and awards ceremonies that demand both scale and beauty.

Dining & Private Events

The Drawing Room & Dining Room

The Drawing Room and Dining Room are the estate’s most intimate private spaces — beautifully furnished period rooms suited to private dinners, small group meetings, and breakout sessions within a wider conference programme. Both rooms have working fireplaces and overlook the formal gardens.

Suited For

Private Dining  ·  Breakout Sessions  ·  Small Meetings

Restaurant & Bar

The Church

The estate’s principal restaurant and bar, housed in the former Defence Forces recreation hall — a vaulted room with striking original features. Serving breakfast daily and dinner using local Donegal produce. Available for private dining and informal evening events. The bar stocks Crolly Distillery whiskey — Donegal’s first licensed distillery in 180 years.

Suited For

Group Dining  ·  Evening Events  ·  Informal Networking

Full AV equipment, dedicated Wi-Fi, flipcharts, stationery, and technical support are available for all event spaces. Our events team will work with you to configure each room to your exact requirements and ensure the technical setup is in place before your guests arrive.

Beyond the Meeting Room

Team-Building & On-Site Experiences

The 100 acres of estate grounds give corporate groups something that no conference centre can offer — genuine outdoor space and experiences that bring a team together in a way that a breakout session cannot. All activities can be arranged in advance and built into the programme.

Hawk Walks

A guided falconry experience through the ancient woodland with Harris Hawks. Consistently the most talked-about activity by corporate guests — genuinely unlike anything available in a conference setting.

Bee Safari

A guided visit to the estate’s hives in the walled garden with beekeeper Frank Chaney. A memorable and genuinely unusual experience for groups looking for something different in the programme.

Woodland Walks

Guided group walks through 100 acres of ancient woodland and meadow in the hills above Letterkenny, with views over the River Swilly valley. An ideal way to begin a day or refresh a group mid-programme. Self-guided and led options available.

Croquet & Lawn Games

Croquet on the formal lawn and outdoor games on the estate grounds — a natural way to end a working day before dinner. Competitive, sociable, and distinctly Rockhill.

Cheese & Wine Tasting

A private tasting in the cellar of the house — a cave-like vaulted space beneath the 17th-century structure. An excellent evening event for senior groups or client entertainment after a day of business.

The Wellhouse Spa

Individual or group spa treatments in the converted grain store. A natural complement to a wellness or incentive programme. Group bookings can be arranged in advance with dedicated time slots for your party.

Catering & Dining

Food & Drink for Every Format

Our culinary team uses local Donegal produce to deliver menus that match the quality of the setting. From a working breakfast and mid-morning refreshments to a formal gala dinner, every meal at Rockhill reflects the estate’s commitment to genuine hospitality.

All menus are designed with your event in mind and can be tailored to dietary requirements, cultural preferences, and the pace of your programme. Private dining for small groups and full banquet service for large events are both handled with the same care.

Working Breakfasts & Lunches

Freshly prepared working meals served to the event space or in The Church restaurant. Designed to fuel a productive day without breaking momentum.

Refreshment Breaks

Tea, coffee, and a selection of freshly baked goods between sessions. Simple but done properly — the detail that delegates notice.

Gala Dinners & Awards

Full banquet service in the Main Hall or Orangerie. Multi-course menus, wine service, and bar arrangements tailored to the scale and tone of your event.

Drinks Receptions

Canapés and drinks in the Library Bar, Drawing Room, or formal gardens. A natural way to welcome delegates or close an event day before dinner.
