Helpful Information to Plan Your Visit

Below are commonly asked questions that will help you plan your visit. If your query is not listed, please call reception on +353 74 9113650 or email reception@thewellhouse.ie.

BOOKING & CANCELLATION

Q: Do I need to book my treatment or thermal access in advance?

A: Pre-booking is essential for all visits. You can book directly via our online booking system or by calling The Wellhouse team. Bookings require card details to secure the reservation.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: We require 48 hours' notice for rescheduling or cancelling. Otherwise, a charge of 50% of the service will apply. Cancellation less than 24 hours before the service or "No Shows" will incur a 100% charge.

Q: Can I use my Rockhill House gift voucher for Spa treatments?

A: Absolutely. Gift vouchers are valid for any treatment at The Wellhouse, spa thermal programme, or retail product. Please present your voucher upon arrival.

GROUP & EXCLUSIVE HIRE

Q: What is the "Circle of Friends" experience at The Wellhouse?

A: The Circle of Friends is an exclusive spa evening designed for groups of 10 or more guests. It offers a dedicated time slot where your group can enjoy private use of the Thermotherapy Suite facilities together for an exceptional, shared wellness experience.

Q: Can we book The Wellhouse spa privately for an event or celebration?

A: Yes. For the ultimate secluded celebration, you can enquire about exclusive hire of The Wellhouse. This provides your party with dedicated access to the thermal suite and relaxation areas, perfect for bridal parties, birthdays, or corporate wellness retreats.

Q: What are the booking requirements for large groups (10+)?

A: For larger parties wishing to book the Circle of Friends or secure exclusive use, we require booking well in advance. A dedicated coordinator will assist with tailoring your thermal access and treatment schedule to ensure a seamless experience for all guests.

Q: Do group bookings include access to treatments or just the thermal suite?

A: Group packages, like the Circle of Friends, primarily secure exclusive access to the Thermotherapy Suite. Individual treatments can be booked for each guest, but these must be coordinated with your dedicated events planner for proper sequencing.

Q: Is there a private dining or refreshment option for groups?

A: Yes. Group and exclusive hire packages can often be customized to include dedicated catering, such as refreshments in the Bothy Bar or a more substantial dining experience within Rockhill House or in The Church restaurant and bar, depending on the scale of your booking.

THERMAL EXPERIENCE & TREATMENT COMFORT

Q: Is Thermal Suite access included with my treatment?

A: Yes. All guests who book a full treatment receive 90 minutes of complimentary access to the Thermotherapy Suite prior to their treatment time. *Access can also be booked separately.*

Q: What facilities are included in the Thermotherapy Suite access?

A: Access includes the Hydrotherapy Pool, Aromatic Steam Room, Traditional Finnish Sauna, Infrared Sauna, Experience Showers, and access to the Wellness Garden with its Outdoor Whirlpool Tubs, Bracing Bucket Shower, The Bothy, and Mongolian Meditation Yurt.

Q: Is there a specific ritual to use the thermal suite before a treatment?

A: Yes. We suggest you use our Himalayan Salt station and Experience Showers. We encourage a basic Hot-Cold-Relax Ritual: start warm (Sauna/Steam), alternate with cooling (Bucket Shower/Pool), and finish with quiet rest. Your therapist can guide your best pre-treatment sequence.

TREATMENTS, HEALTH & ETIQUETTE

Q: What does 'Intentional Spa Experience' mean at The Wellhouse?

A: Our guiding principle is Intentionality. We encourage you to set a clear focus—such as "Restore My Glow"—before starting. This conscious act maximises the healing benefits, making your journey deeply personal.

Q: Do I need to remove my clothes during my treatment?

A: The therapists use professional draping techniques to ensure your privacy at all times. Disposable underwear is provided, or you may wear your own.

Q: Should I inform my therapist of my medical condition?

A: Yes, it is vital to complete your consultation form accurately. Conditions such as high/low blood pressure, pregnancy (14 weeks+), or heart disease may mean certain treatments are not recommended. Please call if you are unsure.

Q: Can I use my mobile phone or electronic device while at The Wellhouse Spa?

A: No. The use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited to maintain the sanctuary-like environment. If you wish to have a photo or video taken for social media, please speak to staff who will assist without disturbing other guests.

Q: What if I have questions during my treatment?

A: We encourage you to ask any questions and voice any concerns you may have with your therapist. Open communication is crucial to aid your comfort level and allow you to receive the full benefits of your treatment.

Q: Do you offer specific treatments focused on achieving 'glowing skin' or deep muscle relief?

A: Yes. Our Antioxidant Ishga Facial revitalises tired skin. For deep muscle relief, try our Hot Stone Full Body Massage, Deep Tissue Muscle Release Massage, or the Bamboo Massage.

Q: What kind of holistic treatments are available besides massage?

A: We offer the Celtic Yoga Massage (fully clothed, combining acupressure/stretching) for alignment, and the Gua Sha Rejuvenating Facial which uses crystal stones to stimulate lymphatic drainage.

Q: Does The Wellhouse offer specialized wellness experiences for oncology and cancer care guests?

A: Yes. We offer Oncology Therapies using Ishga Cancer Care treatments, carried out by expertly trained therapists. These are safe, gentle, and supportive therapies, available with prior G.P. or Consultant approval.

Q: What if I have allergies or special dietary needs?

A: Please inform us immediately upon booking or during your consultation. Our therapists will ensure product selections avoid known allergens.

DINING, REFRESHMENTS & EXTRAS

Q: Is there a private dining or refreshment option for groups?

A: Yes. Enjoy refreshments at The Bothy Bar in the Wellness Garden. Group packages can be customised to include dedicated catering or a more substantial dining experience within Rockhill House or at The Church restaurant and bar.

Q: Is tipping customary for therapists at The Wellhouse?

A: Tipping is welcome for excellent service but is entirely at your discretion. A gratuity (typically 10–20%) is always appreciated.

Q: Where is The Wellhouse located and is parking available?

A: The Wellhouse is located on the picturesque Rockhill House Estate in County Donegal, Ireland. Use a sat-nav for precise directions to Rockhill House. Our address is Rockhill House, Rockhill House Estate, Rockhill, Letterkenny, F92 R523, Ireland. Ample free private parking is available for all guests.

Q: What is the significance of the historic architecture (Mill Buildings, Stable Block) to the spa experience?

A: The architecture is integral to our Spirit of Place. Our reception is in the original estate mill buildings (over 200 years old), and treatment rooms are in the old stable block. This heritage acts as a grounding therapy itself.
