Falconry on the Estate
The Harris Hawk Experience
With expert falconer Trevor Gorman
Join acclaimed independent falconer Trevor Gorman on a guided walk through the ancient woodland and estate grounds of Rockhill House. Up close and hands-on with a magnificent Harris Hawk, Trevor will introduce you to the art of falconry and give you the rare opportunity to fly the bird yourself.
As you walk the forest trails, the hawk soars and glides through the treetops before returning to your gloved hand. It is a quiet, primal connection with nature — the kind of experience that stays with you long after you have left Donegal.
The experience takes place on the private grounds of Rockhill House Estate. Trevor works as an independent professional and uses the estate as his backdrop — giving guests access to one of the finest falconry settings in Ireland.

The Harris Hawk
A Bird Built for This Landscape
The Harris Hawk is one of the most intelligent birds of prey — the only hawk species known to hunt cooperatively in the wild. Responsive, patient, and extraordinary in flight, it is the ideal hawk for a walk like this. Watch it move through the Donegal woodland and you will understand immediately why falconry has endured for four thousand years.
